Classification :

API 5L X52 pipe is also called L360 Pipe,
X52 (L360) named by minimum yield strength 52 Ksi (360 Mpa).
It’s a medium grade in API 5L and ISO 3183 specifications,
used for oil and gas pipeline transmissions.

The API 5L grade x52 lsaw pipe's resistance to corrosion is really high, which makes them very well suited to sour service. In sour wells, Sulphur stress corrosion is a common occurrence. The hydrogen molecules from the hydrogen sulphide gas get split up and deposited on the walls of the API 5L X52 Pipe Material. This could cause the API 5L Grade X52 Pipe to split or crack. Since API 5L X52 seamless pipes such as API 5L X52 PSL1 Pipe & API 5L X52 PSL2 Pipe have excellent resistance to corrosion, they are not affected by the chemical changes that take place in the X52 Grade Pipe.
